Cats and squirrels don't mix.

Our one cat, Lola, has a penchant for bringing home animals that she has caught. She offers them to us as gifts. She was a stray that we brought in, so it makes sense that she would know how to hunt for prey. She also likes to occasionally eat her gifts to us on the step right outside our front door.

Today was a bit different though. She usually brings home small to medium sized birds, chipmunks, moles, and field mice. Today, she brought with her, a squirrel. The worst part, though, was that it was still alive, barely.

I've dealt with dead animals before with my job. That's never really bothered me. I've dealt with the animals the cat has left with ease as well. But with this one, barely breathing and trying to move, really got to me.

So this was the first time I have ever killed an animal, insects not included. I had to put it out of its misery. It was the only humane thing that I could have done. I had to break its neck with a shovel. Unfortunately, on the first try, I missed the neck, and instead hit it's ribs. That look it had on its still creeps me out. After that though I did manage to hit the mark, and end the poor things pain.

The weird thing for me is that I can justify in my mind killing something if need be. If I become a cop like I hope to, I may have to shoot a rabid animal. I can justify that by saying that it posed a risk to people and animals in the community. I can even justify killing a human (something I hope I never have to do) if required, such as in a case of self defense or protecting someone. But an innocent animal needing to be put out of its misery...that really bothers me.

Well, this kinda sucks.

My ex yesterday came to my room to drop off some vitamin C lemonade stuff, cause I've been sick recently. It's at this time that she decides to tell me that her doctor just called her, and she apparently has HPV. It's unknown how long she's had it, or who gave it to her. So now I'm freaking out, because I might have it, and may be passing it on to my new girlfriends/bed buddies.

And to make it worse, there's no real test for a guy to determine if he has it or not. The only way I could know is if lesions start to form on my manhood. And if I do have a physical exam or any test done for other diseases, it would show up on either the school bill if I don't charge the insurance. If I do charge the insurance, it's only covered 80/20, so my parents would still see the bill for it.

So, fuck.

Well, according to my ex, along with some other friends here, I've apparently changed. They're saying that I'm doing things that I usually don't do. The main thing they've said is that I have found a new girlfriend-ish relatively so soon. I've known her for almost three weeks, and we as of just last week started to "go out". By that, I mean hang out, cuddle, and some kissing. They're comparing this to last year, where it took nearly three months for this to happen.

So am I really different? I've been taking ADD medicine, starting a couple months ago, so maybe that may be a factor? I'm at 40mg, but that may be too much.

So people that talk to me, have I changed?

I don't mean "Oh, he's better at hockey than I am" type of thing, I mean "He's freaking better at me at everything." type of thing. I apparently be really good at being the worst. I'm the suckiest man alive. Not quite the thing I'd like to be known about, eh?

It just seems like everything I try to do, it's either not good enough, or someone will came along and be better. That's why for a while I hated my older brothers, because I had the impossible task of trying to be more successful than they.

Apparently, I'm cute the second I walk into Subway. One of the girls that works there gave me her number, and we're going out for lunch on Wednesday. And she was one that brought up the idea, not me.

Oh, and I saw a Wii at Best Buy today. I sooooooo want one. I was staring at it for literally 5 minutes without blinking. It's so....beautiful.

Long time, eh?

Yeah, it's been a while since I posted, eh? Well, I've had some major things came up recently. My cousin, who is like a sister to me, tried to commit suicide a couple weeks ago. It tore me up inside, because she was always there for me when I needed help, but wen she was hurting, she never showed it, so I never had the chance to help her.

So that's what has been taking up a lot of my time. For now, all I can do is stand by her and pray for her.
